The 3G, or 3 Gbps variation of SDI (Serial Digital Interface) - an uncompressed digital standard that is transmitted over a 75 Ohm coax cable, using a type BNC connector. The 3G variation allows for 3 Gbps bandwidth needed for a 1080p signal. Used primarily for broadcast applications, as it does not support HDCP.
