Full-Featured Dominion KX III or Scaled-Down Dominion LX II – Which Raritan KVM over IP Switch Should You Choose?

Dominion KX III has been the reigning 300-pound gorilla in the KVM over IP switch arena for quite some time, with the current offering being the 3rd generation of this family of products.

Designated as Enterprise Class and designed to offer the utmost in performance, security and reliability, Dominion KX III is undoubtedly a leader in KVM over IP switches with BIOS-level, remote (and local) access and control of multiple servers and serial devices by multiple remote users.

With 11 available models supporting up to 64 connected computers and up to 8 concurrent remote users per KVM switch, Dominion KX III is further scalable through the integration of CommanCenter, to support thousands of servers controlled and accessed by hundreds of users anywhere, anytime.

Further enhancing Dominion KX III's remote-user experience are dedicated User Stations that replace the need of a computer for remote access, and support dual-video-head servers viewed in extended-desktop mode across two screens.

Dominion LX II, on the other hand, is scaled down in terms of features and capabilities, designed to offer 'basic' KVM over IP switching capabilities, with BIOS-level, remote access and control of up to 16 servers and serial devices by one or two remote users. Dominion LX II, thus, is a simpler and less expensive KVM over IP switch than Dominion KX III – it does not have all the Dominion KX III's hardware, software, features and interfaces (see table below).
